RFID MFRC522  Door lock system

Project summary:

RFID system radio frequency identification in which Information is written in the card or tag is get read by RFID module when they get in contact.

In this project we are making a home lock system which would open only when an authorized card will be available and access will be denied on wrong card.

Component require: -

In this project we are interfacing Arduino board with RFID MFRC522 and servo motor. RFID system would send data to Arduino board and according to that data action would be taken by Arduino board.

Components are listed below:

        ·         Arduino board.

        ·         Arduino software.

        ·         RFID MFRC522 board.

        ·         Servo motor.

        ·         Jumper wire.

Connections: -

This project is quite simple one and can be made really quick if you do all connections properly. Here we are using Arduino and RFID and servo so we need to connect all this at right pins which are described below.

Follow the below following step to make this project:

Step_1: Make all the connection as shown above and open up the RFID MFRC522 door lock system in Arduino software.

Step_2: After this check right port and board in the tool menu of Arduino software.

Step_3: Now If everything is correct then click on the upload button and wait till code get uploaded in board.

Result: 

Now when you have done everything then it’s time to see the result. We can see the result on our serial port also. Open up the serial monitor port of Arduino software. Now to unlock the lock bring you RFID tag near your RFID MFRC522 module and if the card is authorized then it would give access to it otherwise access would declined.

Follow the following steps:

Step_1: Make a card as master.

Step_2: Add or remove a card which you want to give or delete access to your home.

Step_3: (Deleting a card) First scan the card you want to remove, which is known before and you want to terminate that card access in your home.

Now place master card near RFID module to confirm the delete tag process.

Now if you place that removed card near RFID system then servo won’t open the Door lock.

Step_4: (Adding a Card) Now if you want to add a new card which you want to give access to you home lock then place you master card near your RFID MFRC522 module. And then place unknown card which has not access before.

Now place your master card near RFID MFRC522 module to confirm the changes.

Now when you will place that card near your RFID MFRC522 module then it would let it pass through the door and door would open.

Now your project is ready and you can implement it in your door and get relax from problems.

Project specification: 

In this project we are making a simple use of our RFID module to make a door lock system and using it as security purpose. A RFID card has so many different kinds of uses like identity identification, ATM system, Attendance system and it could numerous

In this project card will identify authentic card and give only access to that person. This is a quite simple code and you can make a better one if you really want to implement for you home security purpose.

Some project which can be made with it:

        ·         A RFID card copy system, which will take data from one card and copy that information into other.

        ·         A RIFD attendance book, which will take attendance of employ of any company and store data in any SD card as day wise.

And there can be many project with it just you need to be little creative.

 Arduino code for Project: -

Open the below code in you Arduino software and upload it to your Arduino board. and don't forget to Add RFID MFRC522 library in you Arduino software.
